Bodrum Castle

Bodrum Castle is a magnificent structure on the waterfront, located in the port city of Bodrum. It is over 600 years old and is an excellent example of a gothic style stronghold. This castle is a result of transnational effort, with four towers known as English, French, German and Italian towers, countries that are responsible for their construction. 



The castle was completed in 15th century and was taken over by the Islamic Ottoman Empire in 1523. In 1960s, the castle became home for the well-known Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology. Bodrum Amphitheater

This ancient Amphitheater was built around 4th century BC during the reign of King Mausolos, but it was not until the 2nd century AD was the theater enlarged, enriched and completed. The theater is a witness to the great past of Bodrum. 

Like all ancient theaters, Bodrum Amphitheater is made up of three main parts: The Skene (stage); the Orchestra (half-oval part) and the Cavea audience seating. These parts are very well preserved and the seats provide you the fantastic view of mountains and sea before you. The theater is capable of seating about 13000 people and hosts plenty of concerts, festivals and local cultural events during summertime. 



Zeki Muren Arts Museum

This museum is a dedication to one of the most famous names of Turkey, Zeki Muren. He was a great classical Turkish music performer, a public figure and also a Bodrum addict. In 1980, Zeki Muren relocated to Bodrum as a result of his heart attack. Since that, Bodrum’s value had been added as a brand. 



The museum offers a fascinating insight into the singer’s personal life and career. The small collections of this museum take you through the journey of his life, his musical career, how he became such a renowned, famous, influencing artist. It will be a great opportunity for art lovers to visit this small, lovely, contributing museum. 



Bardakci Beach 

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Bodrum. Bardakci lies not too far from the city center and boats a great number of villas, resorts and hotels. Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology

The museum is situated in Bodrum Castle and is regarded as one of the world’s most significant underwater archeology museums. Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology contains 14 exhibition halls and has the richest East Mediterranean Amphora collection in the world, from ancient shipwrecks, a tomb and a hall of a Carian princess to an ancient Turkish bath and a collection of coins and jewelries. 





The world’s largest Islamic Glass Collection is also exhibited in this place. 


The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus 

Being one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC at Halicarnassus for Mausolus, a satrap in the Persian Empire and his sister-wife Artemisia II of Caria. It was destroyed by successive earthquakes from the 12th to 15th century, the last surviving of the six destroyed wonders. 



The Mausoleum’s stunning aesthetics were so influencing that there is a large number of architectures these days were built based on the design of this famed mausoleum.
